Frequently Asked Questions
What size skip do I need?
The size of skip you would need depends on the amount of waste you have. We cannot give a definite answer but will try and advise you over the phone. The volumes of our skips are listed in the ‘skip sizes’ section.
Can I fill the skip above the sides?
No, the skips are to be level loaded and not above the side of the skip.
How much space do I need for my skip?
Again this depends on which size of skip you rent from us. Please check the skip sizes section and bear in mind that the skips do not all measure exactly the same.
Can I have my skip lifted over a boundary/fence?
Yes, however the maximum height we are able to lift over depends on the weight of the skip and the surrounding areas. We would not ordinarily lift a skip over an obstacle more than 3 or 4ft high.
Can I place the skip on the road?
Yes, but this does require a permit from your local council. The amount of time the permit is valid for varies between councils, but we can advise you of this when booking.
What am I allowed to put in the skip?
You are allowed to mix the waste types in the skip. However, hazardous materials are not allowed. A list of items/materials not allowed are as follows: Fires, asbestos, oils, liquids, acids, fridges, freezers, tyres, batteries, electrical items and gas bottles.
How long can I keep the skip?
We do not put a time limit on how long you may keep the skip. However, we do ask that once filled, you call to arrange collection promptly to avoid creating disturbances and/or environmental hazards. If your skip is kept on the road, the hire period will end once the permit has expired, unless you choose to renew it.
